TL;DR

5 question clusters: Pricing & plans · Data & accuracy · Security & compliance · Integrations · The product itself. If a question isn't here, send it to [email protected] — we add new FAQ entries weekly based on what's getting asked.

01Pricing & plans

Is Free really free?
Yes, indefinitely. Not a trial. 10 briefs/month is the binding cap. You'll likely hit it in week 2 if you're using Mama for real work — that's when teams typically upgrade.
Why per-seat pricing on Pro?
It aligns price with team size + value. Workspace-shared features (Reply Loop, archetypes) benefit from more seats, so seat-based makes sense.
Can I trial Pro before paying?
Pro has a 14-day free trial — full access, no card required to start. Auto-converts to monthly Pro on day 15 if you don't cancel.
What's the difference between Pro and Company beyond limits?
SSO (SAML), audit log retention (1yr vs 90d), dedicated CSM, API SLA, custom DPA. The limit difference is real but the support + contractual differences are what most teams buy Company for.

02Data & accuracy

How accurate is the data?
Category-dependent. Funding signals 99%+. Hiring 98%+. Tech change 90%+. Inferred emails 85% deliverable, Verified 97%+. Full SLA table in Accuracy & verification.
How fresh is the data?
Per-pipeline. Funding <6h. Hiring/exec moves daily. Tech change 48h. Firmographic weekly. See Refresh cadence.
Where does the data come from?
Mix of providers (Crunchbase, PitchBook, ZoomInfo, Apollo, Listen Notes) + our own crawl + structured ATS parsing. Full provenance in Where data comes from.
What if I find incorrect data?
Click the verify pill on any fact → "Report incorrect." Verification queue processes within 6 business hours. Corrections propagate across all workspaces.
Do you have international coverage?
Strong for US + Western Europe. Decent for Singapore, Japan, India, Australia. Patchy for the rest. We're investing in non-English markets but be cautious of "Mama in country X" expectations until we ship.

03Security & compliance

Are you SOC 2 certified?
SOC 2 Type II is in progress, target Q3 2026. Type I report available under NDA today.
Are you GDPR-compliant?
Yes — DPA available on request. EU residency option on Company tier. Full detail in Compliance page.
Where is data stored?
AWS us-east-1 by default. EU residency (eu-west-1) available on Company tier.
Who has access to my data internally?
Only when you explicitly request support and grant temporary access, or during security incident investigation. Audit-logged. See Data handling.

04Integrations

What CRMs do you support?
HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Close, Attio. HubSpot is free across all tiers; others are Pro+.
What sequencers?
Outreach, Salesloft, Apollo, Smartlead, Instantly, Lemlist, Mailshake, Reply.io, HubSpot Sequences. All free across all tiers.
Can I get a webhook?
Yes — Pro+. Real-time push of any Mama event (brief generated, signal fired, search matched) to your URL with HMAC signature.
My CRM/sequencer isn't on the list
Two options: use CSV export, or request a connector. We prioritize based on user demand.

05The product

What's the difference between Mama and Clay/Apollo?
Clay is a workbench. Apollo is a database + sequencer. Mama is signal-anchored briefing + archetype learning — the daily "what should I work on" surface, not just a list-build tool. Full comparison at /vs/clay and /vs/apollo.
Do you have a Chrome extension?
Yes — MV3, free with any plan. Side panel, opener generator, bulk save, profile overlays. Install at /docs/chrome-extension-install.
Do you have a mobile app?
No, and we don't plan one. Mama is a daily-research tool best done at a desk. The web app is mobile-responsive for reading briefs on the go but generation is desktop-first.
How does the AI work?
Mama uses ML for: reply classification (locally hosted), opener generation (private LLM tuned on your workspace data), archetype clustering. We don't use a third-party LLM that retains your data.

06About the team

Who's behind Mama?
Solo founder + design partners + small contract eng team. Bootstrapped to date. About page: /about.
Are you fundraising?
Not currently. Pre-seed angels + design partner revenue. Public position at /open.
Is this company going to be around in 2 years?
Honest answer: the bet is on the discipline (signal-anchored outbound) being correct and the product compounding. Reasonable probability the company is around; lower probability it's identical to today's product. Either way, we have a data-export commitment so you can leave without losing anything.
