Profile overlays — at-a-glance ICP highlights.

Small badges Mama injects onto LinkedIn — on every profile, every search result row, every connection. Color-coded ICP fit, signal-presence indicator, "already in your CRM" flag. Lets you triage LinkedIn at scroll speed without opening the side panel.

TL;DR

Subtle inline badges on LinkedIn surfaces. Green/amber/grey ICP-fit dot · signal-present dot · CRM-known indicator. Triage 50 profiles in 30 seconds. Configure visibility per overlay type. Turn off if it's too much; on by default after install.

01What overlays are

Small visual badges Mama injects into LinkedIn pages. They're rendered by the extension after page load — LinkedIn doesn't know they're there, only you do. They add visual signal without visual clutter.

Designed to make LinkedIn itself a Mama-aware surface. Scroll a search result page and you can see at a glance which 3 of the 10 results are high-fit before opening a single profile.

02The 4 overlay types

OverlayVisualMeaning
ICP fit dotGreen/amber/grey 6px dot near the nameICP score band: green ≥80, amber 60-79, grey <60
Signal-present dotViolet small dotThis account has active signals in Mama
CRM-known flagSmall icon (depends on connector)This person exists in your CRM already

03Where overlays appear

  • Profile pages — next to the name in the header card
  • Search results — next to each result's name
  • Connection lists (My Network) — next to each connection's name
  • Recent activity / feed posts — next to the poster's name
  • Company-page employee lists — next to each employee

04Per-overlay configuration

From the extension popup → Settings → Overlays:

  • Toggle each overlay type on/off independently
  • Adjust ICP-fit thresholds (default green ≥80, amber 60-79)
  • Pick badge size (small / medium)
  • Disable overlays on specific LinkedIn surfaces (e.g., feed only, search only)

05Turning overlays off

If overlays feel like noise, the cleanest setup is: keep ICP-fit dot on, turn the rest off. The fit dot alone delivers most of the value.

Master toggle: extension popup → Pause overlays. The side panel still works; only the injected badges go away.

06Common mistakes

Turning on all 4 overlays from day 1
Visual overload. Start with ICP-fit dot only. Add others as you find specific needs.
Trusting fit dots before ICP rubric is tuned
A green dot is only as good as your ICP rubric. Tune the rubric first, then the dots are meaningful.
Confusing the violet signal dot with the ICP fit dot
Two different things. Fit = does the account match your ICP. Signal = does the account have active signals. A green-fit account with no signal is "watch-list." A grey-fit with signal is "interesting outlier."
