Account voice — how this company talks.

Pull every public utterance from a target company — earnings calls, blog posts, conference talks, podcast appearances, executive LinkedIn posts. Sortable by speaker, recency, topic. Mama uses voice to calibrate the abstraction level of your outreach.

TL;DR

Per-company voice mining. Every public mention by company executives or official channels, scored by recency and influence. Use to match your outbound's vocabulary to the company's — and to find direct quotes for discovery-call rapport. The voice quotes block in every brief comes from here.

01What Account voice is

The per-company variant of Listening. Where Listening is "what is the internet saying about X," Account voice is "what has this one company said publicly."

Used to: prep for discovery calls (knowing what the CEO said on the recent earnings call), match outbound vocabulary to the company's own language, find quotes for personalized opening lines.

02Sources mined

SourceWhat we extract
Earnings calls (public companies)Full transcript with speaker attribution
Company blogAll posts with author + date
Conference talks (YouTube)Description + transcript if available
Podcast appearancesTranscripts of episodes featuring company executives
Executive LinkedIn postsPublic posts from VP+ employees

03How to use voice quotes

The right use: vocabulary calibration. If the CEO talks about "instrumenting the data flywheel," your cold email shouldn't say "we help with data warehousing." Match abstraction level.

The wrong use: direct quotation. "As you said on the Lenny podcast..." reads as creepy. Use the quotes to inform the language, not to be the language.

04Sort and filter

Filter chips:

  • Speaker (CEO, CFO, VP Data, anyone) — see only this person's voice
  • Source type (earnings, blog, conference, etc.)
  • Recency (last 90d / last year / all time)
  • Topic (auto-extracted clusters)

Default sort: recency-weighted relevance. Fresh quotes count more than 2-year-old conference panels.

05How this ties to the brief

The voice block in every account brief is the top 3-8 quotes from this surface, filtered for relevance to the brief's signals. If the signal is "VP Data hire," the brief pulls voice quotes from the VP Data herself and from CEOs talking about data investment.

Click "Browse full voice" in the brief block to land on the full Account voice screen for that company.

06Common mistakes

Quoting voice back in cold emails
Pasting a quote in a cold email is the dominant failure mode. Use the language style — the abstraction level, the framing — not the literal words.
Treating outdated quotes as current
Voice quotes from 2 years ago may no longer reflect the company's current priorities. Filter by recency.
Reading all 50 quotes
The top 5-8 by relevance get you 80% of the value. Don't burn 20 minutes on the long tail.
