Accounts — the 14M-company database.

The base layer. Mama indexes ~14M companies with firmographic, technographic, signal, and persona data. The Accounts screen is where you search, filter, save lists, and bulk-brief.

Time: 6 min·Updated: 2026-05-25·Audience: AEs, RevOps, anyone building target lists

TL;DR

~14M companies indexed. 30+ filter dimensions (firmographic, technographic, signal, persona, location, hiring, funding). Search returns ranked by ICP fit. Save lists. Bulk-brief up to 50 accounts at once. Push lists to your CRM as new records. Refresh cadence: firmographic data weekly, signals real-time.

01What it is

A filterable database of every company Mama tracks. Roughly 14 million as of 2026-05. Mostly biased toward US + Western Europe SaaS/tech, with deepening coverage in finance, healthcare, and ecommerce.

This is the cold account discovery surface. Use it when you want to build a target list of accounts you don't yet know about. For accounts you've already saved, use Saved searches or the Overview.

02The filter dimensions

30+ filters across 5 dimension families:

FamilySample filters
FirmographicIndustry, employee count, revenue band, founding year, HQ geography, stage, funding total
TechnographicSpecific tech in stack, missing-tech ("doesn't use X"), stack-overlap with target, hosting provider
SignalsHas active signal of type X, signal in last N days, signal combo present
PersonaVP/C-level role exists, count of decision-makers verified, recent leadership hire
EngagementHas email-able contacts, hasn't been emailed by your team, in your CRM already

04Saved lists vs saved searches

Two ways to persist:

Saved listSaved search
What it isA frozen set of specific accountsA live query that re-runs continuously
Membership changes? No — you add/remove manuallyYes — new matches appear automatically
Best for"Q2 target accounts" — stable list"All Series B SaaS with Snowflake" — discovery
Alerting?NoYes — Slack, email, in-app

05Bulk briefing

Select multiple accounts (checkbox each row), click "Brief N accounts". Mama generates briefs in parallel — typically 30-60 seconds per brief, so a batch of 20 takes ~10-12 minutes background-processed. Briefs land in your Recent briefs feed as they complete.

Bulk-brief cap: 50 accounts at once. Beyond that, Mama asks you to split — partly a quota guardrail, partly a "are you sure you have time to read 100 briefs?" check.

06Pushing lists to your CRM

Click "Push to CRM" on any list. Configurable field mapping. Available connectors: HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Close, Attio.

Default behavior is one-way create-or-update: Mama writes new accounts as new records, updates existing accounts with Mama-sourced fields. Two-way sync (where CRM changes flow back to Mama) is opt-in per connector.

07Coverage and gaps

Honest about what we don't have:

  • Companies under 10 employees — patchy. Often missing entirely until they raise funding.
  • Non-tech industries (manufacturing, agriculture) — thinner data. We're investing here.
  • Asian markets — basic coverage; deeper data in Singapore, Japan, India.
  • Private-equity-owned companies — basic firmographics, weaker signals.

If a target account is missing, use the "Paste domain" feature — Mama will crawl on-demand and add the account in ~90 seconds.

08Common mistakes

Bulk-briefing 50 accounts on day 1
You'll get 50 briefs but won't read them carefully. Start with 5-10 to learn the brief patterns, then scale.
Using too-loose filters and getting 1K+ results
If your filter set returns over 200 accounts, you're not being specific enough. Tighten until you're in the 20-80 range — that's the actionable zone.
Saving every query as a list
Lists become stale. Most queries should be Saved searches (live) instead of Saved lists (frozen). Lists are for "this exact set of 30 accounts, no more no less."
