Account brief — the central artifact.

Everything Mama does converges on the brief. This page is the full feature reference: every section, every interaction, every push surface. For the basics of reading a brief, see Reading your first brief. This page is for users who already get the basics.

TL;DR

The full feature surface of a brief. Generation (manual, bulk, scheduled) · Re-generation triggers · Trust markers + freshness pills · Decision-makers (verified emails, threading status) · Suggested templates + playbooks (matching rules) · Lookalikes (ranking) · Collaboration (share, comment, hand off) · Push to CRM (field mapping per connector).

01Brief generation

Four trigger paths:

TriggerLatencyBest for
Manual (click "Generate")30-60sOne-off briefing in real time
Bulk (50 at once)~10-12 min for 20List-based briefing sessions
Scheduled (recurring)Per scheduleWeekly account refresh — Pro+
Triggered (signal-based)Real-time as signal firesSaved-search hits — Pro+

02When briefs re-generate

Briefs are point-in-time snapshots. Two ways they refresh:

  • Automatic re-gen: when the underlying signal data shifts materially (a new signal fires, an exec changes, ICP rubric weights change) — Mama re-generates the brief in the background and shows a "Refreshed" badge.
  • Manual re-gen: click the "Re-generate" button in the brief header. Forces a fresh fan-out across all sources.

Old versions are kept — toggle "Show history" in the brief header to see prior versions and what changed.

03Trust markers, in depth

Every scraped fact in a brief carries a verify pill. The pill states: when the fact was last verified and where from. Hover for details, click to report incorrect.

Topbar shows workspace-level data freshness — when the last full crawl completed across major sources. This is the "is the data current today?" answer.

04Decision-makers — full feature set

The DMs section is more than a list. Each person card includes:

  • Verified email pill (SMTP-verified in last 7d) · Inferred pattern · or Pattern unknown
  • Role tier: Economic buyer (Tier 1) · Technical champion (Tier 2) · Influencer (Tier 3)
  • Recent activity: last post, last role change, last public talk — drives "warm signal" detection
  • Thread status: whether anyone on your team has emailed this person in the last 90 days (CRM-sourced)
  • Track in Orbit button: one-click add to your relationship watchlist

The Decision-makers section can be expanded to show up to 20 people per account, sorted by role tier × thread-readiness.

05Template and playbook matching rules

Suggested templates and playbooks are filtered + ranked by signal mix + persona tier of the brief:

  1. Filter: only templates tagged with the brief's primary signal type AND a matching persona tier
  2. Rank: by historical reply rate × predicted reply rate × archetype fit
  3. Show: top 5 templates · top 3 playbooks
  4. Override: click "Browse all" to see the full 200-template library

06Lookalike ranking detail

The 5-account lookalike rail at the bottom of every brief ranks candidates by:

  • Archetype-fingerprint match (40%)
  • ICP rubric score (30%)
  • Signal freshness (20%)
  • Untouched-ness — "your team hasn't emailed this in 90d" (10%)

You can re-rank by clicking a sort header (Score · Freshness · ICP only).

07Collaboration

Briefs are shareable within your workspace:

  • Share link: paste in Slack or email — opens the brief inside Mama for any teammate
  • Add comment: inline comments on any brief section, visible to teammates with brief access
  • Hand off: assign brief to a teammate — moves into their queue with @-mention
  • Workspace history: every brief touch (read, comment, push) is logged for audit + Reply Loop attribution

08Push to CRM

Five CRM connectors supported (HubSpot · Salesforce · Pipedrive · Close · Attio). Push behavior is per-connector configurable:

Push fieldDefault destinationConfigurable?

SignalsCustom property (JSON)Yes
Decision-makersCreate new contacts under accountYes
Suggested templatesActivity note with linkYes
LookalikesSkipped by defaultYes (opt-in)

09Common mistakes

Pushing every brief to CRM
Only push briefs you'll act on. Pushing exploratory briefs creates noise in the CRM and confuses pipeline reporting.
Regenerating briefs repeatedly looking for new info
Brief generation re-runs the same underlying data — only useful if you suspect Mama missed something. Use the "Refreshed" badge as your cue, not anxiety.
Ignoring lookalikes
The 5 lookalikes are usually 80% of the brief's downstream value. Briefing one focal account + 3 of its lookalikes is the most-leverage workflow in Mama.
