Meeting rate

Also known as Email-to-meeting conversion

The percentage of cold-emailed prospects who agree to a scheduled meeting. The metric SDRs are actually measured on in modern outbound — reply rate is a leading indicator, meeting rate is the lagging one that matters. Industry median for cold sequences is 0.5-2%; signal-anchored sequences band at 3-6%; the best operators hit 8%+ on highly targeted plays. Distinct from positive reply rate because not every positive reply converts to a meeting.

01Definition

TLDR
The percentage of cold-emailed prospects who agree to a scheduled meeting. The metric SDRs are actually measured on in modern outbound — reply rate is a leading indicator, meeting rate is the lagging one that matters. Industry median for cold sequences is 0.5-2%; signal-anchored sequences band at 3-6%; the best operators hit 8%+ on highly targeted plays. Distinct from positive reply rate because not every positive reply converts to a meeting.

02Why it matters

This is the metric that connects activity to pipeline. If your team has high reply rate but low meeting rate, the issue is the CTA, not the opener.

03Example

Worked example
1,000 cold sends → 80 replies (8% reply rate) → 45 positive (4.5%) → 22 meetings booked (2.2% meeting rate).
