Custom bots. Tell Mama what else to watch.
Mama's built-in crawlers cover the obvious sources — funding wires, job boards, G2, Reddit. Custom bots cover everything else: a competitor's pricing page, a specific subreddit, a niche Substack, a GitHub repo, a Discord channel. Define the source, the cadence, what to extract, and which signal to fire when something changes.

How custom bots work
The mechanics under the hood.
1
You define the source (URL / RSS / subreddit / Discord channel / GitHub repo / Substack).
2
Set the cadence — 15 min · 30 min · hourly · daily · custom cron.
3
Pick the match rule — keyword regex, content diff, new entries only, or "any change".
4
Pick the signal type to fire when matched (built-in or custom from Signal rules).
5
Mama runs it on her crawler infra — same auto-retry, rate-limiting, and proxy rotation as her built-in bots.
Rules & limits
Things to know before adding bots.
!
No scraping behind logins. Public sources only — that's a hard limit.
!
Respect robots.txt and rate limits. Mama auto-throttles; if a source blocks us, the bot pauses.
!
Each bot fires against your shared signal quota. Heavy bots may need their own attention.
